Bishop Ireton's Model UN Team enjoyed great success at the 12th Annual Gar-field Model UN conference in Woodbridge over the long Martin Luther King Holiday Weekend. Over 700 students were in attendance representing 43 public and private schools from the greater Metro Washington, DC area to include schools from the Richmond area.
The 12 BI student delegates were represented on four of the 14 committees. Over the course of the two day event our student delegates were heavily engaged in debate in their respective committees. Perhaps one of the more interesting committees was the one entitled “West Wing: Trump’s America” as they looked at the transition and future of America after the inauguration.
Bishop Ireton student delegates were recognized for their knowledge, ability to remain in character, speaking skills and preparation of written position papers. Those who were selected for award recognition were:
