Head of School Circle

For more than 60 years, Bishop Ireton has remained rooted in the call to Advance Always and Live Jesus! As I begin my seventh year as Head of School, I am so proud of this institution as we keep advancing. Bishop Ireton has grown in campus facilities; enhanced its rigorous academic programs through instruction and curriculum; grown our outstanding array of extra-curricular, service and retreat opportunities; and developed tremendous programming for Special Services and additional resources to support our students’ learning needs. Our strength comes from our Catholic identity and Salesian charism, and our location in the dynamic city of Alexandria provides a multitude of opportunities for our students and families.

 

We are a thriving school with full enrollment (over 925 students) and a waitlist in each grade, and we are excited to share the Cardinal spirit with those who visit campus each day! Our faculty continues to provide our students with a holistic and rigorous Catholic education in the classroom, and our administration and staff support the academic, socio-emotional, spiritual and diverse needs of our students. Our challenging college preparatory curriculum with robust AP and Dual Enrollment programs continue to exceed state standards, and we are focused on instilling core values that will make our students the leaders of tomorrow and productive citizens today. Campus Ministry and our St. Francis de Sales Chapel provide a beautiful center of campus for our students and entire community, and this current upgrade was made possible thanks to the generosity of so many Bishop Ireton stakeholders.

 

Bishop Ireton High School relies on tuition and the generous philanthropic support of the community to balance the annual operating budget, fund capital and special projects, and bolster tuition assistance for those with financial need. The BI Annual Fund is a primary source of money beyond tuition and fees, and it provides a direct avenue to impactful giving. With tuition only covering 85% of the actual cost to educate a Bishop Ireton student, the Annual Fund helps underwrite the difference (approximately $2,225 per student) between tuition revenue and the full cost of providing a superior academic experience. The generosity of our community is more important than ever as we provide support for our growing faculty and staff, and to assist families in need.

 

This year, I ask that you consider supporting our Annual Fund through the Head of School Circle, which recognizes generous donors at the $5,000 level and above. As a member of the Head of School Circle, you will be recognized through our Advancement publications and will receive invitations to special events during the year.
