Admissions

Transfer and International Applicants

Transfer Students

Students wishing to transfer into 10th or 11th grade are required to follow the same application process. Additionally, full official high school transcripts with credits noted are required. Midyear transfers are considered on a case-by-case basis.

We do not accept students who have repeated or who are reclassified in high school. It is our policy to not accept local senior transfers, however, exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.

Bishop Ireton competes in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) that has specific eligibility requirements for transfer students. Please contact our Athletic Director for more details and to discuss your specific situation should you be interested in transferring to Bishop Ireton as an 11th or 12th grader.

International Students

We welcome students from all areas of the world to attend Bishop Ireton High School in our community of faith. Students are expected to be proficient in English when they begin school here at Bishop Ireton as we do not offer ESL courses. An international student must have an F-1 Visa or a visa status as indicated on the Non-Immigrant: Who Can Study chart in order to be enrolled in and attend a school in the U.S.

International Students follow the same application process as all other applicants. There is an additional requirement in the form of an in-person or Skype interview as part of the international student application.

Bishop Ireton does not provide housing for international students. Agents or relatives must provide proof of a safe, supportive home before the I-20 visa application is processed. Along with the admissions requirements at Bishop Ireton, please refer to the Diocese of Arlington International Student information page for additional details on diocesan requirements and resources.

Tuition and Fees:

Please refer to the Tuition page for details. International students pay the same tuition rate as local students. However, they are required to pay tuition and fees in full at the time of enrollment.

The I-20 is completed once the student is accepted to the school and has indicated they would like to enroll. The I-901 Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) Fee of $350 is paid by the student after the I-20 is completed.
