Technology

Bishop Ireton recognizes both the challenges and benefits of learning in a rapidly changing technological age, and our vision for technology and innovation is grounded in strong spiritual values that emphasize using technology as a tool to enhance best practices in teaching and learning.
Bishop Ireton students learn to navigate all types of operating systems, including Microsoft Office, Google Education and the Blackbaud student portal, to create a superior experience for students.  We are committed to preparing our students for success in a global technological society.

In collaboration with our technology team, Bishop Ireton is able to seamlessly use technology to foster students’ creativity, communication skills, research skills and critical thinking. We work closely with our teachers, students and administrators to explore new applications and tools as our technology program continues to grow and evolve.

  • Bring Your Own Device Policy

Bishop Ireton requires that each student have a personal laptop for daily use. While attending Bishop Ireton High School, students will make daily use of computing resources including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheet analysis, online research, online submission of work, and e-mail. We require that the laptop runs either Windows 11 (Non S-Mode) or MacOS (modern operating systems) and that it is updated to the latest version.

Each student’s personal device should be a laptop with a standard keyboard. Chromebooks, iPads or other tablets, and cell phones do not qualify and are not permitted for use during school hours.
