Head of School Welcome

Dear Visitor,

Welcome to the Bishop Ireton High School website! Thank you for taking the time to explore our vibrant Catholic school community. For more than 55 years, Bishop Ireton has educated students in the tradition of academic excellence with a mission to Advance Always. Our patron saints, St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane de Chantal, guide us in Salesian spirituality and the call to “Live Jesus,” as we remain rooted in educating the whole person – body, mind and spirit. We have successfully prepared thousands of students for college admission throughout these past nearly 6 decades, based on a rigorous academic curriculum and a dynamic extra-curricular program that has encouraged young people to pursue their passions and fully embrace community involvement through service and love of God and neighbor.

It is an exciting time at Bishop Ireton! As of January 2020, we have a new four-story building addition which houses state of the art STEM classrooms, a beautiful dining hall, a library, two outdoor classroom spaces and a new academic support center for our growing special services programs. In addition, an auxiliary gymnasium and a new press box were added to our existing facilities. Our challenging college preparatory curriculum continues to exceed state standards, and our outstanding, distinguished faculty is dedicated to facilitating learning and instilling core values that will make Salesian students the leaders of tomorrow and productive global citizens of the world.

I am blessed to be a part of the Bishop Ireton community as a St. Mary’s Academy alumna, as the wife of a Bishop Ireton alum, as a parent alum and now as Head of School. I am intimately connected to the academic, social, emotional and spiritual gifts that Bishop Ireton High School provides to its students, and I understand the sacrifices that our families make as they entrust their children to our care. I encourage you to stop by and tour our expansive campus and experience the warmth and inviting atmosphere of our school community. St. Francis de Sales tells us, “Be who you are and be that well.” His wisdom and faith remind us that each Bishop Ireton student has different gifts to offer the world and each must be encouraged to become the best version of himself or herself. Come join us as we continue our educational journey to recognize the plan that God has for each one of us.

Blessings,

Kathleen McNutt
