At Bishop Ireton, six phenomenal performing ensembles provide music for concerts, recitals, mass, receptions, special events, tours stateside and to Europe.
  • Symphonic Wind Ensemble
  • Concert Band
  • Choir
  • String Ensemble
  • Jazz Ensemble
  • Guitar Ensemble
The Bishop Ireton Symphonic Wind Ensemble (BISWE) is well known throughout the United States, Europe, Japan, and Australia for its annual commissioning project. Last year three pieces were premiered including the annual commissioned work "A Light at the End of Forever" by Brian Balmages. This important world premiere performance took place in the Concert Hall of the Kennedy Center to a packed house.  The concert tours to Europe are often exchange programs with schools or community bands. Last year's exchange to Paris was particularly successful and exciting. We had 34 French students with us on our flight home.  In addition to the performing ensembles, AP Music Theory is a popular course for our upperclassmen musicians.
