Music at Bishop Ireton

Bishop Ireton High School has long been known for its outstanding music program and state-of-the-art performance and rehearsal facilities. Music class options are available for students at all levels of ability and experience, from beginner to advanced. All students have the opportunity to access a supplemental staff of professional musicians who provide sectionals, masterclasses and private lessons.

Bishop Ireton has six performing ensembles that perform music for concerts, recitals, liturgies, receptions, school events and tours both in the United States and in Europe.

Students frequently earn top ratings at diocesan and regional competitions and have been recognized for excellence at events including the District 10 Band Assessment among others. Many students also participate in All-District Band, Solo and Ensemble Festivals, and some qualify for All-State ensembles.

The Bishop Ireton Symphonic Wind Ensemble is known nationally and internationally for its concert tours, including performances in Germany, France, Spain and Italy. These tours often feature cultural exchanges with schools and community bands.

Beyond the classroom, students share their musical talents with the broader community. The Jazz Ensemble regularly performs locally including assisted living facilities, and the Pep Band brings energy and school spirit to athletic events.
