Science Faculty Member Receives Prestigious Honor

Congratulations to science faculty member Mr. Brian Kerns who was recently admitted into the Royal Society of Chemistry, based in Cambridge, England. As a member, he is joining a larger community of educational chemists and will have access to online journals, teaching suggestions, conferences held both in the UK and online, and myriad other resources. 
The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) is a learned society and professional association formed in the United Kingdom with the goal of advancing the chemical sciences. The organization carries out research, publishes journals, books and databases, as well as hosting conferences, seminars and workshops. It is the professional body for chemistry in the UK, with the ability to award the status of Chartered Chemist (CChem) and, through the Science Council the awards of Chartered Scientist (CSci), Registered Scientist (RSci) and Registered Science Technician (RScTech) to suitably qualified candidates. The designation MRSC is given to selected applicants who demonstrate that they have degree level knowledge in the chemical sciences and have a minimum of three years professional experience at, graduate level, through further study or employment.
