The JV Cardinals battled in a high-scoring matchup against St. Mary’s Ryken but came up short, falling 12-8.
Offensively, the Cardinals totaled nine hits and received contributions throughout the lineup. Brooks Gustafson ('28) led the way with two hits, including a double. Patrick Beretsel ('28) also recorded a double, while Casen Reber ('29), Ben Funk ('29), Joseph Subasavage ('28), Samuel Dyck ('28), Nicolas Bradshaw ('29), and Ben Pearce ('29) each added a hit.
Run production was spread across the lineup, with Funk, Beto Mate ('28), Dyck, Colman Forrer ('29), and Bradshaw each driving in a run.
On the mound, the Cardinals received solid efforts from Mate and Simon Dickerson ('29). Mate faced 18 batters and allowed only three earned runs, while Dickerson faced 17 batters and surrendered just two earned runs, helping keep the Cardinals within striking distance.
