v. St. Paul VI Catholic High School

The Bishop Ireton JV Cardinals earned a strong 5–2 victory over Paul VI, powered by dominant pitching and timely hitting.

On the mound, the Cardinals received an outstanding combined effort from Colman Forrer (‘29), Joseph Subasavage (‘28), and Ben Funk (‘29), who did not allow an earned run. Forrer started and pitched 2.2 innings, while Subasavage delivered a standout relief performance with four innings, four strikeouts, and no earned runs, facing 17 batters. Funk closed out the game, facing five batters and preserving the win.

Offensively, the Cardinals were led by Samuel Dyke (‘28), who collected two hits, including a triple. Funk added two hits and an RBI, while Beto Mate (‘28) contributed a double and an RBI. Casen Reber (‘29) and Nicolas Bradshaw (‘29) each recorded a hit and drove in a run, and Patrick Beretsel (‘28) also added a hit.
The Cardinals showed strong discipline at the plate, drawing eight walks and consistently creating scoring opportunities.

It was a complete team performance, highlighted by shutdown pitching and balanced offensive production.
