Varsity Highlights

v. The Heights School

First match after spring break with the best weather we have seen all year.
Connor Seibel and Jacob Tampio would lead the Cardinals off. The match would end as quickly as it started with dominant play by both Connor and Jacob with multiple birdies in the group to take all 3 points. BI 3.0 – H 0.0.

Next up, Nathan Gorksi and Cooper Kalan. Nathan went down early but brought the match to within striking distance but ran out of holes. BI - 3.0 H - 1.0.

Cooper had a good lead, but a few unfortunate bounces and was down 1 going into the last hole. Win the hole, the match wpuld be tied; lose the hole, and the Heights would win all the points. Huge drive off the 9th tee would set up Cooper with a wedge in and a great second shot to about 15 feet. Two putts later Cooper walked away with a half point. BI 3.5 H 2.5.

The anchor group of Robbie Kane and Jacob Kramer decided the match. Jacob’s match was up and down but going into the last hole had a chance to tie the match. Jacob hit a great 3rd shot to set up for his par. However, his opponent would hit his recovery shot to one foot and Jacob’s putt would just slide by. BI 3.5 H 3.5.

Robbie’s match would determine if the Cardinals got a second victory. Just needing a par on the last hole, Robbie hit a great drive and even better shot into the 9 th green – 15 feet for birdie. Sunglasses on, Robbie’s birdie putt would come up short. Sunglasses up now, it was time for Robbie to drain it or lose… boom! Robbie/Jacob took two points in the final match to win!! BI 5.5 H 3.5

Another great victory for the Cards!
