v. St. John's College High School
The Cardinals started flying early in their second conference game at St. John’s with an 11-3 win.
Senior Captain Annie Simon tripled in the 1st scoring Lucy Roche. Senior Captain Ciera Funk hit Annie in to take a 2-0 first inning lead.
After a leadoff walk in the bottom half, starting pitcher Ciera Funk induced a ground ball to 2B Abbey Roche for a smooth 4-6-3 DP with a rocket throw from SS Annie Simon to 1B!
Ciera pitched 6 innings giving up only 3 runs and striking out 5. Kolby Curry closed out in the 7th striking out 2 of the 3 batters faced giving up no runs.
Defensively Senior Captain Caroline Dick at 3B shut down their bunt attempts, Rachel Klaric made 10 putouts at 1B, and Senior LF Annabelle Seaton dove for an impossible catch only to just miss it and then a few batters later dove again and caught a ball in shallow LF for a big 3rd out!
Offensively Annie had 3 hits, 2 runs scored, a stolen base and 3RBI. Lucy Roche had 2 hits, 1 RBI and 3 runs scored. Caroline had 2 hits and 1 RBI.
Boom!
