Varsity Highlights

v. Riverdale Baptist School

The Bishop Ireton JV Cardinals came up just short in a close contest against Riverdale Baptist, falling 4–3. The Cardinals received strong pitching throughout the game and showed patience at the plate to generate their offense.
Joseph Subasavage ('28) got the start on the mound, pitching two innings and recording three strikeouts. The Cardinals bullpen continued the strong pitching performance with Simon Dickerson ('29), Samual Dyck ('28), and Robert Mate ('28) all contributing in relief. Dickerson delivered an impressive outing, throwing two innings with four strikeouts, while Dyck added 1.2 innings with three strikeouts. Mate closed out the game, facing one batter and inducing a line-out.

Offensively, the Cardinals showed patience at the plate, with Maddox Baig ('29), Adonai Pietros ('28), and Brendan Bennett ('28) each drawing walks and later coming around to score the team’s three runs.
Despite the narrow loss, the Cardinals displayed strong pitching depth and disciplined at-bats. Bishop Ireton JV will look to build on that effort in their next game against Georgetown Prep on Tuesday, March 7.
