v. St. John's College High School

Bishop Ireton saw its three-game winning streak come to an end Monday afternoon, falling to St. John’s 71–62 in a Washington Catholic Athletic Conference matchup in Alexandria.
The Cardinals battled throughout against one of the conference’s top programs, but the Cadets used key scoring runs and defensive stops to create separation and secure the victory. St. John’s improved to 22–7 on the season with the win, while Bishop Ireton moved to 16–10.

The matchup marked the second meeting between the teams this season, with St. John’s also winning the earlier contest in January, highlighting the intensity of the conference rivalry.

Despite the loss, Bishop Ireton showed resilience and competitiveness against a highly ranked opponent, continuing to demonstrate its ability to compete with top WCAC teams during the final stretch of the regular season. The Cardinals had little time to regroup, preparing immediately for their next conference matchup against Our Lady of Good Counsel.
