WMPSSDL Championship

For the second consecutive weekend, Bishop Ireton Swim & Dive returned to Fairland Aquatic Center, once again navigating the uncertainty of inclement weather at the Washington Metropolitan Prep School Swim & Dive League (WMPSSDL) Championship Meet. Preliminaries were contested on Friday, with finals taking place Saturday evening.
Jack Fuqua ’26 (100 Backstroke) and Jack Lentini ’27 (200 Freestyle) represented the Cardinals on the boys side during Saturday finals.

The girls team was well represented, with Avery VanLandingham ’28 competing in the 100 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke, where she broke the Bishop Ireton school record after previously tying it earlier in the season. Leah Eubanks ’29 advanced in both the 100 and 200 Freestyle, while Marcella Forrer ’26 (100 Backstroke) and Sophie Bliss ’27 (100 Breaststroke) also earned finals appearances. Bishop Ireton additionally qualified girls relay teams in the 200 Medley Relay, 200 Freestyle Relay, and 400 Freestyle Relay.
