Varsity Highlights

v. DeMatha Catholic High School

It was a difficult night for the Bishop Ireton Varsity Boys Soccer team, falling 6–0 to DeMatha at Fannon Field. The Cardinals entered the match with a short bench, having only four substitutes available.
Despite the challenging circumstances, the team worked hard throughout the match against a strong and physical DeMatha side. Unfortunately, injuries continued to mount for Bishop Ireton. Junior Joshi Cabrera and fellow Junior Gavin Mohr both sustained injuries during the game, adding to the team’s growing list of absences. Sophomore Jackson Guernsey, who was recently called up to Varsity, also picked up a knock but is expected to recover in time for the next match.

With limited depth and multiple players sidelined, the Cardinals struggled to maintain their usual rhythm and intensity. Still, the players showed grit and commitment under tough conditions, continuing to battle until the final whistle.
