MAPHL Semifinals

BI was back in Laurel for the MAPHL semifinal game against Sts. Peter and Paul, which is led by a tremendous goalie that set aside 32 shots in their prior meeting. The second look at this goalie must have helped BI as they had their offense going early.

Connor Seibel '26 scored with 3:37 left in the first period. His line mates, Matthias Borges '27 and Jacob Brink '27 both assisted on the goal and helped BI to get an early lead. SSPP tied it up in the second period creating a little tension on the BI bench.

BI is a veteran team and rebounded quickly. Connor Seibel gave BI the lead with just 22 seconds remaining in the second period on an unassisted goal. BI dominated the third period by suffocating the SSPP offense and getting two more goals. Joe Payne '28 scored of an assist from his linemate, Michael Battaglia '26 who made several physical plays to keep the puck in the zone and get it to Joe. Connor Seibel added another goal to make sure there was no doubt about the outcome, and BI cruised to a 4-1 victory and a rematch with Gonzaga V2 for the championship.

Please come to Laurel on February 26 at 5PM and support the V1 team as they try to win the MAPHL in their first year in the conference.
