v. Our Lady of Good Counsel High School
Bishop Ireton earned a strong Washington Catholic Athletic Conference win Tuesday night, defeating Our Lady of Good Counsel 82–72 at home behind a fast start and balanced offensive effort. The victory continued the trend of the home team winning the recent matchups between the two programs and marked another positive result for the Cardinals late in the season.
Bishop Ireton set the tone early, jumping out to a commanding first-quarter lead and controlling the tempo for most of the night. The Cardinals opened the game with a 24–9 first quarter and extended the margin to 46–23 by halftime, using defensive pressure and efficient scoring to create separation.
Good Counsel responded after the break, showing resilience with a strong second-half push. The Falcons outscored Ireton in the third quarter and continued to apply pressure in the fourth, but the Cardinals answered with timely baskets and maintained control down the stretch to secure the 10-point victory.
