v. Holy Cross

Girls Varsity Hockey took the ice against Holy Cross. BI honored their 2 seniors, Belen Lorenzo y Losada and Quinn Davis, prior to puck drop. The coaching staff would like to thank these players for their hard work and dedication throughout the season!
The Cardinals got off to a slow start and found themselves at a 3-1 deficit at the end of the first period. Ailish Brink scored the lone goal with the assist going to Ginny Purkey.

The second stanza featured a strong push by the home team, as BI controlled play in Holy Cross’ zone for the majority of the period. Despite the time of possession advantage, the second period concluded with Holy Cross leading 5-2. Ginny Purkey scored the lone goal, unassisted.

BI made its final push in the last 15 minutes of the game but fell short at the final buzzer, 6-4. The scoresheet featured 1 goal for Ailish Brink, 3 goals and 1 assist for Ginny Purkey, and 13 saves for goalie Andie Francis. Congratulations to Ireton’s newest player, Evie Ludvigson, for making her debut at left wing!
