Bishop Ireton Girls Win Catholic States!

The Bishop Ireton Girls Cross Country Team came home with the first place trophy, narrowly defeating John Paul the Great by 2 points at Newport News Park at the Virginia Catholic State Championships.  
 
Sophomore Cate Messing was the runaway winner, cruising to an easy victory with a time of 18:29. Senior Regan Schultz finished 6th overall, followed by fellow seniors Annie Simon in 12th place and Abigail Crum in 14th. Sophomore Sophia Larose finished up the scoring for the Cardinals, crossing the finish line in 20th place.

The boys also had a good day with a third place overall finish. Junior Jason Day led the way for the Cardinals with a bronze medal performance. Senior Million DeSio finished 12th overall.

The JV boys also took home some hardware, placing first overall. Sophomore Zach Moeller crossed the finish line first, followed close behind by freshman Christian Myers and sophomore Joseph Carter in 2nd and 3rd place.
