v. The Heights School

The Bishop Ireton JV Cardinals delivered a dominant performance, shutting out The Heights 8 - 0 behind outstanding pitching and balanced offensive production.
On the mound, Brooks Gustafson (‘28) was exceptional, throwing a complete game shutout while allowing just three hits and keeping The Heights off the scoreboard from start to finish.

Offensively, the Cardinals saw contributions up and down the lineup. Joseph Subasavage (‘28) and Patrick Beretsel (‘28) each led the way with two hits, while Beto Mate (‘28), Colman Forrer (‘29), Gustafson, Samuel Dyck (‘28), Nicolas Bradshaw (‘29), Casen Reber (‘29), and Benjamin Funk (‘29) each added a hit. The Cardinals showed extra-base power as Gustafson, Subasavage, Beretsel, and Dyck all recorded doubles.

Run production was well distributed, with Mate, Gustafson, Beretsel, Dyck, Reber, and Funk each driving in a run.

The Cardinal's combined dominant pitching with a balanced offensive attack in a complete team win.
