The Bishop Ireton Cardinals Varsity Baseball team suffered a tough 5 - 4 loss to The Heights in walk-off fashion, battling hard throughout and showing resilience until the final inning.
On the mound, Alexander Glick ('27) delivered a strong start, pitching 5.1 innings, allowing only three earned runs, while facing 25 batters. Thomas Foley ('27) provided effective relief, allowing just one run over the remainder of the game and giving the Cardinals a chance to compete late.
Offensively, the Cardinals were highlighted by Logan Miller’s ('27) towering two-run home run, which provided a spark. In a heads-up baserunning play, Foley stole home on a throw back to the pitcher in the top of the 7th to tie the game. Andrew Antonio ('26), Foley, Sean Cosgrove ('26), Jack Brooks ('28), Glick, and Isaac Gillespie ('27) each recorded a hit, with Gillespie adding a double and an RBI. The Cardinals were also aggressive on the basepaths, with Foley and Antonio each stealing multiple bases.
