v. West Potomac High School
The Bishop Ireton Cardinals Varsity Baseball team suffered a tough 5-4 loss to West Potomac in a true heartbreaker, surrendering the lead in the bottom of the 7th inning after holding control for most of the game.
On the mound, Cash Griffy ('28) delivered a terrific performance, pitching 6.1 innings with eight strikeouts, keeping West Potomac off balance all night.
Offensively, the Cardinals put together a strong effort. Thomas Foley ('27) led the way with two hits and two runs, while Connor Stehn ('27) added two hits, including a double, and an RBI. Andrew Antonio ('26) contributed a hit and an RBI, and Logan Miller ('27) added a hit and a run scored. Jacob Hurley ('26) drove in a run, and Isaac Gillespie ('27) chipped in with a double and a run, while George Dyck ('26) reached base with a walk.
Despite the outcome, the Cardinals showed resilience and grit throughout the game, competing hard until the final out.
