v. Hayfield Secondary School

The Bishop Ireton Cardinals Varsity Baseball team fell to Hayfield 9–1 but showed competitive at-bats and solid effort on the mound throughout the game.
On the mound, Alexander Glick ('27) got the start and pitched four innings, recording three strikeouts while working efficiently through the Hayfield lineup. Thomas Foley ('27) provided relief, throwing two innings and adding one strikeout.

Offensively, Andrew Antonio ('26) led the Cardinals with two hits, including a double, while Foley ('27) also contributed a double. Isaac Gillespie ('27) added a hit, and Glick drove in the Cardinals’ run. The team showed patience at the plate, with Connor Stehn ('27) drawing three walks, Logan Miller ('27) adding a walk and scoring a run, and Sean Cosgrove ('26) and Jacob Hurley ('26) each earning a walk.

The Cardinals will look to regroup and build momentum as they prepare for their next matchup Monday at 6:30 p.m. against West Potomac.
