v. Chase High School

Game 2 of spring break had the Cardinals beat Chase High School (North Carolina) 16-12 in another offensive barrage. The team had 18 hits once again with 7 extra base hits! Claire Schlereth crushed 2 doubles, Sadie Prow was 3-4 with a double and 2 runs scored, Ciara Funk was 4-5 with 3 RBI, Claire Trombley had the huge tying RBI in the 6th and Lucy once again hit a 2-run inside the park HR in extra innings to seal the win for the Cards!

Ciara Funk pitched all 8 innings. The opponent was hitting her fastballs, so she and catcher Abby Roche adjusted and started mixing in other pitches to lead the Cardinals to their 8th win this season. Abby had a huge play in the bottom of the 6th throwing out a runner on an attempted steal for the 3rd out of the inning emptying the dugout and making the parents go (almost as) crazy as their daughters!

The Cardinals improved to 8-4.
