MAPHL Quarterfinals

Bishop Ireton took on St. John's College in the MAPHL quarterfinals. Playoff hockey often sees the teams elevate their effort and pace of play, and this game was no exception to that.

SJC came out of the gate with a blast of energy. BI had no time to dwell on their WCAC championship loss.  The first period saw lots of action, but no goals. Joe Payne '28 ended that goal drought 4:30 minutes into the second period from a nice assist by Robert Mate '28. Mate would add another for BI with a beautiful helper by Connor Seibel '26, co-WCAC player of the year.

In the third period, Joe Payne added another goal from a pass by Barnaby Lant '27. Connor Seibel had an unassisted goal on the power play and Graham Swoope '27 made a beautiful steal and went 100 feet and buried a backhand shot for his first high school goal of the year. BI prevailed 5-0 and moved on to the semifinals. Declan Edwards had his first playoff shut out.
