Varsity Highlights

v. Bishop O'Connell High School

Bishop Ireton Boys Varsity Soccer fell 7–3 to Bishop O’Connell in a high-scoring but difficult away fixture.
The first half was sloppy and low-energy from the Cardinals, as O’Connell capitalized to put BI down four goals by halftime.

The second half, however, told a different story. The Cardinals came out sharper and fought their way back into the game. Sophomore Max Schneeberger stole the spotlight, delivering a brace and an unforgettable moment of quality. His first came from the penalty spot after sophomore Max Jordan was fouled inside the box. His second was undoubtedly the best goal of the entire day across both matches: a stunning strike from outside the 18-yard box that rocketed into the top right corner, leaving the goalkeeper rooted and helpless.

Junior striker Gavin Mohr added another early in the second half, continuing his strong season up top. Captain Travis Mulder gave a tireless performance both centrally and on the wing, driving play forward despite suffering the misfortune of an own goal. His leadership and energy remained a bright spot throughout.
