Bishop Ireton Varsity Cheerleading Wins the Grand Championship Title at CCA Nationals 6 Years Running

The Bishop Ireton Varsity Cheerleaders made history this past weekend by performing in four different categories in the medium varsity division at CCA Nationals. All four of their routines took home the 1st place National Championship title. They competed against some local teams, as well as several teams from across the nation. They also won the Grand Championship title for the highest score overall in all divisions. The team also won the superlative "Best Stunt Sequence" for their pyramid.

The team has won 1st place at Nationals and the Grand Championship title every year since 2016,  except the year of 2021 where they did not attend Nationals due to COVID.

"Their athleticism and determination was unrivaled. The team's behavior on and off the mat represented Bishop Ireton at the highest level. I am so incredibly proud of this team" said, Coach Angela Hope-Eskew.

Coach Angela Hope-Eskew, who was the 2013 National Coach of the Year, and has been inducted into the National Christian Coach's Hall of Fame, was honored again this year with an award for continuing to be one of the top coaches in the nation.
