Model UN Chantilly Conference

The Bishop Ireton Model UN team beat out the snow to participate in the Chantilly Model UN conference two weeks ago.
BI was represented on ten of the committees and the student delegates did an excellent job in demonstrating their knowledge, diplomatic skills and speaking abilities.  The highlight of the conference was when two delegates, Kip Sisel (Crips) and Mac Sparrow (Bloods), in the Joint Crisis Committees of the Los Angeles Turf Wars were part of a confrontation with their rival gang.  They used some innovative thinking to advance their agenda. The Ad-Hoc committee was the most challenging with the best student delegates of their respective schools. The next Model UN conference will be hosted by Johns Hopkins University (JHUMUNC XXII) from February 7 – 10 in Baltimore.
Individual student delegate recognition awards were earned by the following BI delegates:
Gavel (1st Place):
  • Kip Sisel; Crips - Regional Ambassador – Hawthorne; JCC LA Turf Wars
Outstanding (2nd Place):
  • Molly McDade; Sundar Pichai; Google Board of Directors

  • Mac Sparrow; Bloods - Head of Automobile Theft & Acquisition; JCC LA Turf Wars
