Transportation Options

Bishop Ireton High School is centrally located just off Duke Street in historic Alexandria, Virginia; close to both the I-395 and I-495 interchanges.

Carpool Information
Bishop Ireton does not offer bus service and encourages families to carpool. If you are looking to organize a carpool, please contact the Dean of Students office starting in August 2018 as they will have a list of names by zip code that they can forward to interested families.

Public Transportation
Metro
With the King Street Metro Station closed to shuttle buses for the 2018 - 2019 school year, Bishop Ireton will run a shuttle bus from the Braddock Road Metro Center on the Blue and Yellow line. The morning shuttle bus has one pick-up time at 7:30 am. The afternoon bus leaves for the Metro 15 minutes after the final bell rings at the end of the day.

New this year, students with a Bishop Ireton ID card can ride the Alexandria DASH buses for free. They can ride from the King Street station up Duke Street to Cambridge Road beginning in September.

Bus
The 29 K-N Metro Bus stops near school, at the Alexandria Commons shopping center, and it's just a short walk to our front door on Cambridge Road.
