Construction Update - August 2019
The flurry of activity continues on Cambridge Road as our construction teams work hard to ready the school for the first day of classes.
Here are some important updates for you as the 2019-2020 school year approaches:
New classrooms on the first and second floors (located in what used to be the old cafeteria and library) are nearing completion and will be ready when students return after Labor Day.
The construction team installed curbs and gutters in the north parking lot (located outside of the gym/Fannon Field) and initial paving for the lot will begin this week.
The new modifications to the main office will be completed by mid August.
The build-out of the new Advancement/Head of School offices located in the first floor K-wing (behind the band room/auditorium) is progressing on schedule and will be competed for the beginning of school.
The new building remains on schedule for a late November completion. Windows will continue to be installed, and the building will be fully enclosed soon.
At some point during the next month, we will cut over to our new electric service with Dominion Energy. That cutover process may involve a loss in power throughout the building for a day, so please stay tuned as schedules for sports practices may change.
Though it was our hope to have the Press Box in place on Fannon Field before the beginning of the school year, it will, in fact, not happen on that schedule. It is currently being constructed and we still hope to have it installed this school year when it is completed in October/November. If you have any questions, please contact Sean Casey, Athletic Boosters President, directly by calling 410-804-4005.
The level of activity on the campus is high and we understand that comes with concerns. Because our facilities will not be completed by the time fall athletes arrive for tryouts and practices, everyone must strictly follow instructions regarding entering and exiting the building. Coaches will be instructed as to these routes and will strictly enforce them with their athletes. As always, safety for all of our families, students, staff and faculty is our highest priority!
