The Bishop Ireton High School Athletic Boosters (BIAB) promote and support the school’s overall athletic program. BIAB are volunteer parents who donate their time to help enhance the efforts of BI’s athletic department and to foster school spirit and sportsmanship among the Bishop Ireton community.
BI’s widely recognized athletic program is tempered in the nationally regarded Washington Catholic Athletic Conference. Ireton’s teams are perennially ranked among the best in their sport regionally and some are rated among the nation’s finest. Many WCAC athletes go on to play college and professional sports.BIAB Support
has included program-wide purchases such as: Game Day Cold Therapy Units used by our Athletic Trainers in support of all BI teams; and sport-specific purchases such as 15 game uniform shells, and game and practice pucks, for the Ice Hockey Team, or a Shoot-A-Way Series 8000 Rebounding Machine used by all of the school’s Basketball Teams.
BIAB capital projects have included the purchase and installation of score-boards at Godley Gymnasium, and Fannon and Witter Fields (see picture to the right), as well as major funding toward the renovation of Fannon Field.
Every year BIAB funds, jointly with the PTO, the Rev. William J. Metzger Award for Outstanding Leadership in School and Community Affairs. BIAB also considers special athletic team funding requests throughout the year.
