   There is a librarian in the library from 7:15am to 4pm every day.  If you have any requests for materials, research project assistance or other help please call on us!


The Bishop Ireton Library Media Center is centrally located and houses our main collection of over 20,000 books, DVDs, videos and other materials.


  Destiny is the online library catalog.  Use the catalog to access our collection of over 20,000 books, e-books, DVDs and videos.  Login to your online library catalog to search, renew, place holds, and cite sources.

The Bishop Ireton Library Media Center provides access to over 30 databases featuring scholarly journal articles, books & e-books, images, and streaming video.

NoodleTools is an online citation tool and research project organizer.

Libguides provide a collection of resources for specific assignments.  The library staff works with the teachers to compile the best information available.


Turnitin is an educational tool featuring plagiarism education & prevention.  Students are instructed to enroll in classes as required by the teacher.  Please direct questions about Turnitin to the library staff.

  Magazine & Newspaper Subscriptions: the library subscribes to a wide variety of print magazines and newspapers. 
  Student Access to the library:  Students with a study hall may sign out and come to the library media center.  We accept 10 upper classmen and 10 underclassmen from study hall.  The library is open before and after school for student use.

1 Book 1 Community: This year we are implementing a new program.  Our community will be reading The Little Prince by Antoine Saint-Exupery. 

On R Days We Read: Students are expected to bring The Little Prince to their classes on R Days.  If you have finished reading The Little Prince, please bring another book of your choice to read.  20 minutes of class time will be reserved for reading.

After school on Friday October 24 the library will show the 1974 musical version of The Little Prince

there will be a school-wide symposium style discussion of the book.Monday November 10
          The Student Book Group is a student run organization which meets monthly to discuss student selected books.  If you enjoy reading, you will enjoy this club. 

The Word Write Shop is now located in the library.
