Class of 2014 College Application Process & Advice from the College Admissions Counselors

School Counselors will discuss the necessary paperwork and procedures specific to Bishop Ireton for the application process and there will be a panel discussion with admission counselors from public and private institutions who will discuss the current trends and the state of admissions nationwide as well as how admission decisions are made.

College Financial Aid Night

Expert advice on completing the FAFSA, CSS Profile and institutional financial aid forms.  Learn the ins and outs of loans, scholarships, grants, work study programs and the college financial aid package.


Wednesday, February 26

Class of 2015 College Kick-Off

This meeting marks the official start of the 16-month college search, application and admission process for the Class of 2015.  Come learn where to start, what to do and what is important to the colleges when reviewing applications


Wednesday, April 2

College Night for 9th and 10th Grade Students and Parents

At this meeting the School Counselors will provide an overview of the college process and the college counseling program at BI.  We will discuss and remind students that in order to have the best possible college choices, they must perform well during their entire high school career. We will also go over specific details of the college process that pertain to them such as the PSAT, SAT subject tests, ACT and SAT, and the importance of meaningful, in-depth community service, extracurricular activities, and summer jobs.


Workshops begin at 7:00 pm and are held in Garwood Whaley Auditorium. Dates and times may change.  Please consult the Bishop Ireton High School website for up-to-date information or contact the Office of Counseling Services.
