In addition to academic merit-based scholarships, financial need-based scholarships are awarded by Bishop Ireton on the basis of the information supplied in the financial aid application form. SMART AID is a grant management company retained by the Diocese of Arlington to process financial aid applications for the Diocesan Catholic schools. The application forms are available from the school after mid-December, or you can apply online (after Jan 1) with SMART AID. Bishop Ireton awarded more than $700,000 last year in need-based grants to more than 140 of our families.
In order to be considered for financial aid, you must file with SMART AID by January 25th, 2016 (if you need a financial aid decision prior to enrollment) or by March 14th, 2016.
In addition to the generous financial aid that Bishop Ireton, in conjunction with the Diocese of Arlington, is able to award, we wanted to make families aware of other outside sources they might pursue. Many parishes and Knights of Columbus chapters award scholarships. You might check with your local parish for more information. Additionally, the following is information on an organization, not affiliated with Bishop Ireton, that you may want to look into:
1. JFK Council, Knights of Columbus Scholarships - The Knights of Columbus John F. Kennedy Council #5482 will be awarding tuition assistance scholarships to Catholic students for the academic year 2016-2017. The scholarships are awarded for one (1) year only. There are academic and service requirements for awarding the scholarships. For more information, please click here.
