In addition to academic merit-based scholarships, financial need-based scholarships are awarded by Bishop Ireton on the basis of the information supplied in the FACTS financial aid application form. FACTS is a grant management company retained by the Diocese of Arlington to process financial aid applications for the Diocesan Catholic schools. The application forms are available from the school after mid-December, or you can apply online (after Jan 1) with FACTS by clicking here or by clicking the FACTS picture below. Bishop Ireton awarded more than $550,000 last year in need-based scholarships to more than 120 of our families. Please see the Admissions Schedule for FACTS application deadlines.
In addition to the generous financial aid that Bishop Ireton, in conjunction with the Diocese of Arlington, is able to award, we wanted to make families aware of other outside sources they might pursue. Many parishes and Knights of Columbus chapters award scholarships. You might check with your local parish for more information. Additionally, the following is information on two organizations, not affiliated with Bishop Ireton, that you may want to look into:
1. Capital Partners for Education - a non-profit scholarship and mentoring program serving the DC metro area. Students are eligible if they are entering 9th grade in the fall, live in the DC area, are legal US residents, and their household income meets certain guidelines. Additional information is available at www.cpfe.org.
2. JFK Council, Knights of Columbus Scholarships - The Knights of Columbus John F. Kennedy Council #5482 will be awarding five tuition assistance scholarships to Catholic students for the academic year 2013-2014. The scholarships are awarded for one (1) year only. There are academic and service requirements for awarding the scholarships. For more information, please click here.
