Mr. Eugene L. Jasper

Mr. Eugene L. Jasper resides at 10109 Tasker Drive in Manassas, Virginia 20109.  He was born on November 5, 1940 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania and lived in nearby Port Vue. He attended Port Vue Junior High School and graduated from McKeesport Senior High School in 1958.  He attended Catholic University and graduated in 1963 with a BA in American History.  He married Anne Celestine Overend, whom he met in college, and they celebrated their 43nd anniversary on September 28, 2006. The Jasper clan includes three children - Jennifer Anne, Richard Michael, and Sharon Elizabeth - and two grandchildren - Andrew Lawrence Johnson and Emily Ann Johnson. Mr. Jasper lettered in basketball from grades 7 through 12 and was a four-year starter at Catholic University, where he was inducted into the Catholic University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997. Mr. Jasper is also an accomplished softball umpire (now retired), having worked over 9,000 games including 546 championship games including national championships. He is a member of the Prince William County Softball Hall of Fame, and the Central Virginia Amateur Softball Association Hall of Fame.

Mr. Jasper has completed post-graduate work at the U. of Virginia, U. of Maryland, Georgetown U., Trinity College, Marymount College and Regent College. His teaching experience includes 7 years at Hart Junior High in Washington, DC, and 36 years at Bishop Ireton High School, where he has taught American History, Geography, World Cultures, and Economics. At Ireton he coached basketball, football and lacrosse. and has been a member of the Academic Council for over 25 years. Presently he is the Social Studies Department chair and teaches Honors American History and Advanced Placement American History.
