Current Events Journal Entries

 

Summary

Each student will select and analyze a current event article as it relates to Human Geography.  By the end of the year, you will have learned and appreciated current events and possess a wealth of examples to use in your AP Human Geography Exam essays.  You will have had on-going writing discussions with your teacher, peers and, hopefully, family regarding current events.  Maybe you will even find a cause to champion!

            Every “B” day until final exams

Required Materials

Marbled Composition notebook(s)

Black pen & highlighter

Stapler or pen

Media sources

 

Instructions

  1. Select a current event article pertaining to Human Geography
  2. Staple or tape the article into your journal with the article byline & date visible
  3. Read and highlight the main Human Geographical issues in the article
  4. Write a proper five paragraph journal entry analyzing the article
    1. Introduction
    2. Summarize the article
    3. Discuss its Human Geographical issues with appropriate vocabulary words
    4. Give your opinion about the topic
    5. Conclusion
  5. Journals are due at the start of each “B” Day
  6. After you fill one journal, purchase another one until the end of the year
