November ‘08
IMPORTANT: I will be unavailable on Monday, 24 November, for Parent Teacher
Conferences. If any of your parents
would like to meet with me, please schedule a meeting for Friday 21,
November. If this should prove difficult
for your parent to schedule, please ask them to contact me via e-mail. I am sure we can work out a mutually
acceptable day and time.
This week we will briefly
review and conclude our coverage of “Newton’s 3rd Law of Motion – Action
and Reaction,” Chapter 6 and go deeper into our study of “Momentum” Chapter
7. Key words: Momentum, impulse,
conservation of momentum, elastic and inelastic collisions and momentum
vectors.
On Thursday, 13
November, a “B” day, weather permitting, we will hold the annual “Egg-Drop”
competition. Materials for this event
will be made available early in the week.

About 4 weeks from
now you will be required to turn in a
report on the progress you are making on the “Major Report.” Please do NOT wait until the last minute to
get started. This progress paper will
contribute to your final grade for the 2nd Quarter, and
consequently, your 1st Semester grade.
As noted in my
last update, many, if not most, of you still have not established a network of
“reliable” study-buddies. And as you
have heard me say many times, “do not rely on your study-buddy calling you if
you had to miss a class – YOU
call him/her.”
Homework will be
assigned on a daily basis according to progress.
