Lock In Tuesday, September 16
Following notification of the situation in Alexandria City, Bishop Ireton, like the other schools in the area, entered into a "Lock-In" protocol. The student's school day was unaffected, and the school day continued indoors. Under the guidance and with the support of the Alexandria Sherriff's office and the Alexandria Police Department we dismissed as usual at 3:00pm.

Athletic Booster Meeting
Tuesday, September 23, 7 pm, Resource Center.  All parents with students in any athletic program are encouraged and welcome to come.

Advanc-Ed Survey
Current Parents are asked to complete a survey for our re-accreditation process. These responses are critical for us and we really appreciate your taking time to fill them out.  There are 3 surveys:  Catholic Identity Defining Characteristics, Catholic Identity Program Effectiveness, and a General Parent Survey.  These will be open from September 9 through September 30.  Thank you in advance.

B.I. Capstone Project

The Junior Capstone Project scheduled to commence this school year will be placed on hold in order to facilitate further planning and discussion between the Bishop Ireton Academic Council and Administration.  The decision to postpone implementing the Junior Capstone Project for the Class of 2016 will ultimately provide future junior and senior students with the best 21st Century learning experience possible.  The four project meetings that were scheduled to begin next week for the juniors are cancelled and no work or grades will be issued for the Class of 2016 regarding this capstone project. We appreciate the support of the B.I. community as we demonstrate our commitment to providing meaningful and relevant learning opportunities.

The Freshman Google Maps and the Sophomore Renaissance Faire projects will continue unchanged as part of the developing Capstone learning experience at Bishop Ireton

B.I. AP Scholars
