Spanish I

Since there is no class on Monday, the test will be given on Wednesday, and the notebooks will be collected after the test. The test content was outlined in class on Friday and is as follows:

 

Vocabulary: Food; Saludos; Despedidas; Presentaciones; Respuestas; Personal pronouns: yo,  tú, él, ella, usted, nosotros, vosotros, ellos, ellas, ustedes.

 

Constructions: Me gusta with -ar verbs, comer and dormir; Yo te amo; Tú me amas; ¿Cuántos años tienes; Tengo trece/catorce/ quince/ dieciséis /años;

 

The alphabet: The teacher will spell out some words in Spanish; students will write them down and give their meanings.

 

Page 3 of the workbook was assigned for homework. We will go over this on Tuesday and practice saying them in dialogs in preparation for the speaking portion of the test. We will do further review and practice for the test on Tuesday.

 

Spanish II

Study class notes including the weather expressions and conductor / conducir un coche.

from two small stories previously assigned for sight reading. If covered in class in your section  on Friday, study the remaining expressions from Chapter A from the overhead transparency. In the other sections these expressions will be covered Monday. Notebooks were collected on Friday from most students. Other students will pass them in on Monday.

Spanish I

Review and memorize new expressions and vocabulary:

            ¿Cuántos años tienes tú? Tengo (trece, catorce, quince, dieciséis) años.

            comer (to eat); dormir (to sleep)

            la familia, el padre, la madre, el abuelo, la abuela, el hermano, la hermana

Read for comprehension the small story about Pedro, started orally in class.

On Tuesday, Sep 18, there will be a quiz on material covered so far and a notebook check. Tomorrow we will prepare for the quiz in class.

 

Spanish II

Study for quiz tomorrow on the ten sentences involving expressions with GUSTAR.

Read for comprehension the two small stories done orally in class. (Sight reading: Try to understand without translating.)
